The Consultative Committee on Guangdong-Hong Kong Co-operation (CCGHKC) was established in Guangzhou Nansha on 14th April. An appointment ceremony took place on the same day.
Mr Leung Chun-ying, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference is the consultant of the CCGHKC while Mr Yue Yi, former Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of the Bank of China(Hong Kong) Limited as the committee director.
In his speech, Mr Leung Chun-ying said that the CCGHKC is a new platform for furthering Guangdong-Hong Kong collaboration and leveraging the advantages of two regions.
Sixteen of the appointed committee members are from Hong Kong and eleven are from the Mainland with different fields of expertise. The committee members will offer consultations to assist the construction and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong in-depth cooperation zone.
The CCGHKC is divided into nine working groups to promote in-depth cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong in business and trade, finance, information technology, data connectivity, land planning and development, policy research, professional services, publicity, youth entrepreneurship and employment. The group members will be inducted when necessary.
